Grants & Scholarships

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics and the College of Sciences and Mathematics offer several scholarships and funding opportunities for undergraduate students. These awards recognize academic achievement, creativity and promise in the mathematical sciences, while also supporting research and professional development.

Students are encouraged to explore both departmental awards and university-wide scholarships, many of which are administered through Auburn’s scholarship system.

Departmental Awards

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers several awards that recognize outstanding undergraduate achievement.

Andrew C. Conner Memorial Award
Awarded to the most creative undergraduate student enrolled in mathematics courses. Recipients are selected by a committee of faculty members in the department.

Ralph B. Bennett Memorial Endowed Fund for Excellence
This award supports outstanding students in mathematics or statistics and may be awarded to undergraduate or graduate students who demonstrate exceptional academic performance.

Departmental awards are typically selected by faculty and may recognize academic excellence, creativity in mathematical work or promise in research.

COSAM Scholarships

Many mathematics and statistics students are eligible for scholarships offered through the College of Sciences and Mathematics (COSAM). These scholarships may be based on academic achievement, leadership, financial need or program of study.

Students apply for COSAM scholarships through the Auburn University Scholarship Opportunity Manager (AUSOM), where they can submit a single application and be considered for multiple awards.

Undergraduate Research Funding

Students interested in research may apply for competitive funding opportunities that support undergraduate research projects and faculty mentorship.

These programs provide financial support for students conducting independent research projects under the guidance of Auburn faculty.
