The College of Sciences and Mathematics Office of Academic Engagement, Innovation and Opportunity supports academic excellence, transformative research and meaningful service by helping create a college environment where every individual can contribute fully and thrive.

AEIO works across COSAM to strengthen access, engagement and opportunity for students, faculty and staff. Through programs, partnerships and resources, the office helps foster fairness, understanding, respect and a strong sense of belonging throughout the college.

Mission

The purpose of COSAM’s AEIO is to empower and promote access in STEM fields by offering strategic, tailored support and a community environment where everyone has a voice.

Vision

COSAM AEIO will be known by and accessible to all students, faculty and staff by providing comprehensive academic, professional and social support and resources that foster a conscious community within the college.

Building STEM Pathways

AEIO is especially focused on students interested in STEM fields at the K-12 level. Through outreach, recruitment and access-focused programming, AEIO works to connect students with resources that help make college a viable and achievable option.
