About the Program

The COSAM STEM Summer Bridge Program is a residential summer experience for incoming first-year students designed to support a smooth, confident transition into Auburn’s College of Sciences and Mathematics. Through academic preparation, skill-building workshops and community-building experiences, Summer Bridge helps students start their first semester prepared — academically, socially and personally.

What Is Summer Bridge?

Summer Bridge is a four-week on-campus program held before the fall semester that introduces students to the expectations of college-level STEM coursework while helping them build strong study habits time-management skills and a supportive peer network.

Participants live on campus engage with faculty and staff and experience Auburn life before the semester begins giving them a valuable head start.

What You’ll Do

During the Summer Bridge Program students will:

  • Strengthen foundational skills in math and science

  • Participate in academic workshops focused on study strategies time management and college success

  • Engage with COSAM faculty advisors and peer mentors

  • Build community with other incoming COSAM students

  • Explore campus resources and support services

  • Develop confidence navigating college-level STEM expectations

Who Should Apply?

The COSAM STEM Summer Bridge Program is open to:

  • Incoming first-year students admitted to Auburn University’s College of Sciences and Mathematics

  • Students interested in strengthening academic readiness and building community before the fall semester

Students from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. The program is especially supportive of students who may benefit from early academic preparation and structured support as they transition to college.

  • Location: Auburn University campus

  • Format: Residential in-person program

Additional details regarding housing meals and daily schedules will be shared with selected participants.

How to Apply

Applying to the Summer Bridge Program is simple:

  1. Complete the online application

  2. Submit a 750-word personal narrative

  3. Provide a high school transcript

  4. Subit two letters of recommendation from academic, community or professional references
