The Geology Alumni Endowment for Scholarships was established by alumni of the Department of Geology to support undergraduate students pursuing a degree in geology at Auburn University. Scholarships help reduce financial barriers and allow students to focus on coursework, field experiences and professional development.

Support for this fund directly invests in the next generation of geologists and honors the legacy of Auburn geology alumni.

The Dr. Robert B. Cook Endowed Professorship honors the legacy of Dr. Robert B. Cook, a dedicated geology professor and former department head. This endowment supports outstanding faculty in the Department of Geosciences and strengthens excellence in teaching, research and mentorship.

Endowed professorships help the department attract and retain exceptional faculty who advance discovery and inspire students.

The Nicholas L. Hood Endowed Memorial Scholarship was established by family, friends and classmates in memory of Nicholas L. Hood. The scholarship provides support for students in the College of Sciences and Mathematics with a declared major in geology.

This fund honors Nick’s memory while supporting students as they pursue academic and professional goals in the geosciences.

The Charles E. “Chuck” Savrda Outstanding Graduate Student Award honors Dr. Charles E. Savrda and recognizes excellence among graduate students in the Department of Geosciences. Award funds may be used to offset the cost of attending classes, support research or seminar travel or purchase necessary academic materials.

This award supports graduate students at critical points in their academic and professional development.
