The Department of Physics is home to faculty, research staff, instructors and students working across a wide range of areas in the physical sciences. Together, our community advances research, supports student learning and contributes to Auburn University’s mission of discovery and education.
Faculty
Our faculty lead research programs, teach undergraduate and graduate courses and mentor students pursuing careers in science, engineering and technology. Their work spans experimental, theoretical and computational approaches to understanding the physical universe.
Research & Professional Staff
Research and professional staff support the department’s laboratories, instrumentation and research programs. They help maintain specialized facilities, assist with experimental systems and support faculty and student research projects.
Graduate Students
Graduate students pursue advanced study and original research while contributing to teaching and laboratory instruction. Working closely with faculty mentors, they investigate fundamental questions in physics and develop the skills needed for careers in research, industry and academia.
