Welcome to Auburn University’s College of Sciences and Mathematics.
COSAM is home to students, faculty, staff and alumni united by curiosity, discovery and a commitment to making a difference. Across our departments and programs, we advance Auburn’s land-grant mission through teaching, research, outreach and service that strengthen Alabama and extend far beyond our state.
This is an exciting time for COSAM. Our college continues to grow through new academic programs, expanded research opportunities, innovative teaching spaces and major investments in facilities that will support the next generation of scientists, mathematicians, educators and leaders.
As we look ahead, COSAM’s work is guided by a simple charge: Be Bold. This theme reflects our commitment to creating exceptional student experiences, expanding the frontiers of research and developing leaders who will shape the future of science and mathematics.

Be BOLD Strategic Pillars
COSAM is committed to creating high-impact learning opportunities that prepare students for meaningful futures in science, mathematics, health, technology and education.
This includes using new facilities such as the Academic Classroom and Laboratory Complex for teaching and learning innovation, advancing major investments such as the STEM + Agricultural Sciences Complex, and strengthening programs such as Biomedical Sciences to continue preparing students for competitive pre-health pathways.
COSAM faculty and students are advancing discovery across disciplines that address important challenges in Alabama, the nation and the world.
The college supports this work by recruiting and mentoring innovative faculty, developing COSAM-led research centers based on departmental and interdisciplinary strengths, and encouraging entrepreneurship that helps bring research innovation from Auburn to broader communities.
COSAM is investing in leadership that strengthens teaching, research and belonging across the college.
Through faculty fellow roles focused on instructional effectiveness, research center development and inclusive excellence, COSAM is building leadership capacity that supports faculty, staff and students while advancing the college’s mission.
