Short Bio

Dr. Rogers is an Associate Professor of Geographic Information Science (GIScience) in the Department of Geosciences at Auburn University. She also currently holds the Dr. Robert B. Cook Endowed Professorship through the College of Sciences and Mathematics. Dr. Rogers’ research leverages advanced geographic theories and geospatial methodologies to analyze, model, and interpret complex socio-environmental systems. Research originating in her GeoIDEA lab (Geospatial Innovation, Development, and Environmental Applications) is inherently multidisciplinary, yet underpinned by robust understanding of geographic principles. She has received over $3 million in funding from various state and federal agencies including the USDA, USGS, NOAA, and NSF. She has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals spanning multiple disciplines with numerous student co-authors. Dr. Rogers is broadly trained in geography with expertise in physical geography, GIScience, and remote sensing. Her current research interests span several different domains including: investigating the use and effectiveness of geographic data production using unoccupied aerial systems (UAS), spatiotemporal analyses of water quality and contamination, prioritization of wastewater infrastructure needs, and honey bee and pollinator health.
