Short Bio
Satyam Kumar Singh is a PhD student in the Department of Biological Sciences at Auburn University working in plant developmental biology and hormone signaling. His research focuses on understanding how cytokinin signaling regulates plant growth and development, particularly root development, root gravitropism, flower development and plant responses to abiotic stress. He is broadly interested in hormone crosstalk and the molecular mechanisms that shape plant adaptation and development. Prior to joining Auburn University, Satyam completed an integrated BS–MS degree in Biological Sciences at IISER Berhampur, India, and conducted research on cytokinin signaling and thermomorphogenesis in Arabidopsis thaliana at NIPGR, New Delhi.

Professional Experience
Satyam Kumar Singh has research experience in plant developmental biology, hormone signaling, plant physiology and molecular biology through academic training at Auburn University, IISER Berhampur, and NIPGR, New Delhi. His work has focused on cytokinin signaling, plant development, thermomorphogenesis, abiotic stress responses and Arabidopsis physiology. He has also gained experience in molecular and biochemical techniques, including DNA, RNA and protein analysis, gene expression studies, microscopy,and plant phenotyping.
Innovation
My research focuses on understanding how cytokinin signaling regulates plant growth and development, with particular emphasis on root development, root gravitropism, flower development and responses to abiotic stress. I am interested in uncovering how hormonal crosstalk, especially between cytokinin and other plant hormones, shapes developmental and adaptive processes in plants. By integrating molecular, physiological and developmental approaches, my work aims to advance our understanding of the mechanisms underlying plant growth and environmental responses.
