    Professional Experience

    Dr. Eleh currently serves as an instructor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University, where he teaches core undergraduate courses including Calculus I-III, Differential Equations, Probability & Statistics, Statistics for Engineers & Scientists, and Fundamentals of Statistical Inference. His responsibilities include course instruction, student mentoring, research, and participation in departmental academic activities. Before his current appointment, he spent several years as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Auburn University’s College of Sciences and Mathematics, during which he held progressively responsible instructional roles. He served as a full instructor for multiple undergraduate mathematics courses, led recitation sections for large-enrollment classes, facilitated problem-solving workshops, and provided individualized academic support through tutoring and office hours. In addition to his work at Auburn, Dr. Eleh has held teaching and instructional roles beyond the university setting. He served as a Faculty Instructor with the Thrive Scholars Summer Academy, where he designed and delivered an intensive Calculus I course for high-achieving students transitioning into rigorous STEM programs. He has also contributed to secondary education as a co-teacher in the Microsoft TEALS program, supporting student engagement with computer science through project-based learning.


    Innovation

    Dr. Eleh’s research lies at the intersection of applied mathematics, machine learning, and computational modeling. His work focuses on data-driven methods for analyzing and approximating complex systems, with particular emphasis on partial differential equations, stochastic modeling, and multiscale phenomena. He has developed and applied modern machine learning techniques, such as conditional variational autoencoders and adaptive optimization methodsto problems in scientific computing and mathematical biology. His research aims to bridge theoretical analysis with practical computational tools, enabling efficient modeling and inference in systems characterized by uncertainty and high dimensionality. His scholarly work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals and has been presented at national and international mathematical conferences.

    Engagement

    Dr. Eleh is actively engaged in educational outreach, student leadership, and service initiatives that promote participation and excellence in mathematics, data science, and STEM fields. His outreach work spans university-level student organizations, pre-college enrichment programs, and community-based educational initiatives. At Auburn University, he served as Vice President of the Data Science Society at Auburn, where he contributed to the organization’s leadership, programming, and community-building efforts. In this role, he supported initiatives aimed at fostering student interest in data science, facilitating academic and professional development opportunities, and strengthening interdisciplinary engagement among students across quantitative and computational disciplines. Beyond Auburn, Dr. Eleh has participated in outreach-focused teaching through the Thrive Scholars Summer Academy, where he worked with high-achieving students from diverse backgrounds to strengthen mathematical readiness for rigorous STEM programs. He has also contributed to secondary education through the Microsoft TEALS program, supporting students’ exposure to computer science, computational thinking, and project-based learning.     Outside of teaching and research, Dr. Eleh enjoys engaging with the Auburn community through a variety of personal interests and informal mentoring activities. He has helped numerous members of the Auburn community learn how to drive, an activity he finds rewarding as a practical way to support independence and confidence. He is also actively involved in music, singing in choir and serving as a cantor, and enjoys participating in recreational soccer through various pickup groups at Auburn. These activities reflect his appreciation for community, teamwork, and creative expression, and provide meaningful balance to his academic work.
