Innovation
My lab is focused on understanding how the plant hormone cytokinin (in its various forms) is involved in regulating plant growth and development during abiotic stress responses and senescence. Much of this work has consisted of the study of a subset of AP2/ERF Transcription Factors known as CRFs of Cytokinin Response Factors both in the model system Arabidopsis and in tomato.

I routinely participate in outreach activities that include SSI (Summer Science Institute) and Destination STEM
Teaching
My teaching interests parallel my research interests and focus on plant biology, development and plant hormones. This includes BIOL 3100 Plant Biology and BIOL 5330/6330 Developmental Genetics.
