Organismal Biology

The Conservation and Biodiversity Option focuses on the study of biological diversity, ecology, evolution and the conservation of organisms and ecosystems. Students prepare for careers or advanced study in conservation, environmental science, wildlife biology, natural resource management and related fields.

The Ecology, Evolution and Behavior Option explores how organisms interact with one another and their environments across ecological and evolutionary time. Students build a foundation for careers or graduate study in ecology, evolutionary biology, animal behavior, conservation and environmental research.

The Integrative Biology Option emphasizes the study of organisms across biological levels, from physiology and development to ecology and evolution. Students prepare for graduate study, professional programs or careers in research, health-related fields and the biological sciences.

This concentration helps students complete coursework aligned with preparation for medical, dental or optometry school while building a strong foundation in organismal biology, chemistry and related sciences.

This concentration supports students preparing for physical therapy or physician assistant programs through coursework in organismal biology, anatomy, physiology, chemistry and related health sciences.

The Pre-Veterinary Medicine Option prepares students for veterinary school through coursework in organismal biology, chemistry and related sciences. Students build a foundation for veterinary, animal health, biomedical and biological science pathways.
