Geology prepares students for a wide range of careers and advanced study in fields related to Earth systems, natural resources and environmental processes, including energy, environmental consulting and geoscience research. The program emphasizes the study of Earth’s structure, materials and dynamic processes using principles from chemistry, physics, biology and mathematics. Students gain hands-on experience through fieldwork and laboratory training, developing practical skills in analyzing rocks, minerals and geologic data.
