Hives Alive

Join the Smith Bee Lab for the opening of “Hives Alive,” an illuminating display of the dynamic honeybee nest, on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, from 6–8 p.m. at the Davis Arboretum.

This sci-art exhibit transforms complex biological data on nest morphogenesis and pattern formation into larger-than-life art installations embedded among the trees. The opening will also feature a performance by Traveling Hive, and food and soft drinks will be provided.

Presented by Biodome Conservatory and hosted by Auburn University’s Museum of Natural History and Davis Arboretum, the installations will remain on display through the end of the year.
